Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
We started our new Tree Module this week and
learned how to be a researcher. We learned to
look closely at things, record observations, and
gather evidence to determine if something is
living or nonliving. We created a “living things
criteria anchor chart” to show our growing
understanding of what’s alive.
We also learned to read words that contain
welded sounds ing, ang, ong, ung and the new
words other, only
Math
Students are building and counting solid shapes
and working to remember the names of these new
shapes. We are also working on addition and
subtraction fluency.
P2: Leadership
Leadership is getting others to do what needs to
be done while maintaining group morale to
ensure readiness to act in the future. This character
strength’s focus is on the personal qualities of
leaders, rather than the practice of leadership.
Science: Animal Needs: Shelter
We focused on animals and their habitats. Animals
need a safe place to live that meets their needs. We
pretended to be a squirrel and learned why a
squirrel needs a home high in the trees.
Rainbow Words
Please keep practicing these important words at
home every night.
Centers:
We had fun using new technology to read books,
playing Bingo with living/nonliving cards, making
solid shapes with clay and toothpicks, and sorted
3D shapes.
