Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
This week we learned that trees are living things because
they need food, water, air, and grow by themselves. We read the book “Are Trees Alive” and compared our
bodies to parts of a tree. For example, the tree roots are
like our feet that anchor us to the ground. The tree trunk
is like our legs that support our bodies while the tree’s
bark is like our skin that protects the inside.
We also learned to read words that end with “ff, zz, ll, ss”
and the high frequency words off, and which.
Math
This week students sorted objects into groups and then
compared the total number of objects. We also continued
working on addition and subtraction fluency.
P2: Supporting others when they struggle
Supporting other people when they struggle is a critical
piece of being human. You support others by listening
while they describe an event and their feelings about it,
taking action to help people in need, or simply just
being there and sitting together in silence.
Science: Animal Needs: Safety
In this Read-Along lesson, a girl notices all the holes
in the trees around her house—and sets out to discover
how they got there, and why they matter. The students
then listened for animal sounds and pretended to be
woodpeckers.
Rainbow Words
Please keep practicing these important words at
home every night.

This week we played with 3D foam shapes, made a
3D shape book, played Sight Word Bingo, and filled
