Kindergarten Announcements
Personal Update:
I want to thank you all for your understanding as I have been gone from school. My father passed Saturday evening. I will be taking the next week to help my family make plans and be together. Ms. Elhert will be here all week for me. Please remind your students the expectations are the same as if I am there. I know they can be at their best for her! I am planning on keeping the scheduled conferences for Monday and Tuesday, but will need to reschedule the Wednesday appointments. I know the parents planning the Halloween party have an afternoon of fun planned and it will be a good time for the kids.
ELA
We finished our Toy unit this week by finishing the book Llama Llama and
deciding what made playing together more fun. Llama Llama learned that
sharing is what makes playing together much more fun.
High Frequency words for this week were no, go, so and we
focused on the letters Oo and Ll.
Math
We played math games that included counting different groups and
matching the groups of items to both written and spoken numbers. Students
matched one group of images with a number as they practice counting and
keeping track of images in a circle
P2: Self Control
Sometimes when we are angry, we want to yell at a friend that has hurt us.
But we learned that the problem will be solved faster if we speak calmly to
our friend and find a solution together.
Science
This week we have been making observations about how sunshine heats
things up! And we’ve noticed that things stay cooler if they are in the shade!
Centers:
We played Halloween Bingo, practiced writing fall words, made 5 Little
Pumpkins crafts, and made number towers.
Sight Words:
