Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
We had a productive week learning to listen to books on Epic, learning the letter and sounds i, n
and writing in, it, sit, an, man. Additionally, we counted syllables and sounds and worked on
rhyming. We also recalled details about the characters and plot of the book I Have a Balloon. We also practiced listening to our partners about what their favorite toy is and why.
Finally we finished the week with our first assessment that included writing about the toy we prefer.
Math
We continued practicing making and describing groups that have more, fewer, and the same
number of objects. We then compared groups and identified groups that have more, less, or the
same number as a given group of images.
P2: Creativity: It takes courage to find new ways to do things. But it makes the world a more unique and
beautiful place.
Science
Seasonal patterns was what we learned about this week. We worked in teams and put the seasons
in order and learned how they start over again as each new year begins.
