Math
Students acted out and told stories to demonstrate addition and subtraction. We told stories about classmates playing at recess and then wrote numbers to represent the action in the story problems. This encourages students to think about the context and the action in the story without feeling pressure to solve the problem. Later in the week we used our fingers to count two groups and add them together.
