Kindergarten Announcements
ELA
This week we finished making our own Snowy Day book
by adding the beginning, middle, and ending of their
stories. We also learned the digraphs /sh/, /th/, /ch/
and learned to read the words look and good.
Math
Students continued developing their understanding
of addition and subtraction by solving expressions.
P2: Kindness
When you do something kind for someone they are
inspired to spread kindness too. Every human is
worthy of care and compassion. Keep spreading
kindness to the world! tter friend and even help
you better understand yourself!
Science: .
In this Read-Along lesson, we read a story about a
girl who watches a house being built and wonders
why the builders need so many big machines. Students
then acted out the “work words” of their favorite machine.
Kindness Party/Valentines
Please send in 20 cards with only your child’s name on
each card (do not fill out the “to” section of the cards please).
Students will hand out cards during the party as one of
the centers.
Rainbow Words
We sent home color-coded lists High Frequency Words in folders last week. (I will post the link to a digital copy too). Please practice reading these words with your child at home. A volunteer parent will come in once a week to listen to your child read the list of words. When your child can read all the words correctly on all six lists, they will receive a bag of Skittles as a reward. I look forward to handing out lots of Skittles this May (or sooner)
Ice Skating:
We will be going ice skating with our 4th grade buddies on February 3. We will leave Lincoln at 2:20 to walk to the ice arena. We will need many volunteers to meet us there around 2:30 to help with putting on skates. Please make sure your child has all their snow gear to bundle up for this fun activity. We will be retuning to Lincoln right at our pick up time, 3:40. We will have to get backpacks from inside then I will bring them out for pick up. Please fill out this form to help us with skate sizes.
None this week due to snow days
